What’s an exchange " to confirm "?

It is an exchange waiting for confirmation of your partner.

What’s a counted exchange ?

It is a confirmed exchange, which has been debited / credited to the respective accounts.

What are the balances ?

The "Balance" is the total of units (positive) exchanged since the creation of the website. In other words, it is the wealth that you have created.

How to reach my account?

Click ont the link « My account » below your name (top right)

How can I change my email / password?

Click on the link « My account » below  your name (top right) > Click on the tab « Parameters » > Don’t forget to click on « save » at the bottom of the page.

How can I change my address?

Click ont the link « My Account » below your name (top right) > Click on the tab « My information » > Don’t forget to click on « save » at the bottom of the page.

How to consult the list of My Exchanges?

Click ont the link « My Account » below your name (top right) > Click on the tab « Exchanges ».

Offers and Requests

How to consult the list of My offers and requests ?

Click ont the link « My Account » below your name (top right) > Click on the tab « Offers and Requests ».

How to add an offer / request ?

Click ont the link « Register the offer» or « Save the request » below your name (top right).

Members

How to contact a member?

Click on « Members » in the top menu > Click on the member’s number : in his profil you have a direct acces to his address and to his phone number.

How to send an email to a member ?

Click on « Members » in the top menu > Click on the member’s number > Click ont the tab « Contact ».

We choose this method to facilitate the first contact and to avoid the abuse of emails.

How to add an exchange ?

Click on the link « Members » in the top menu > Click on the member’s number : in his profil you have a direct acces to his address and to his phone number.

Who enters the exchange on the website ?

Generally the person who’s going to give units, or according to agreement. What is important is that you check your exchanges " to confirm " before entering a new exchange, to avoid duplicates. As long as your partner did not confirm the exchange, you can modify  or delete it.

What if the partner didn’t confirm the exchange ?

First, demonstrate some patience. Some people check their emails only once a week. Others may be on vacation or absent for long periods. After a while, you can call them, or possibly send a new email.

How to register an exchange with SWAPENGO ? (central account)

For example : You proposed translations, organised events in your establishment.

Choose the central account as partner in the exchange. A person in charge will confirm the exchange afterward

Can I change an already entered exchange ?

Yes, if your exchange partner has not confirmed it yet. You can even delete it.

What's to do in case of doubles exchanges ?

If the exchange has not been confirmed yet, the person who entered the exchange can remove it. If the exchange is confirmed, you can enter an exchange of "correction" (with the same number of units in the opposite direction with the same person). Put in the description: "correction of the exchange" X "" X "". So the two exchanges cancel.

Print a list

How to print a list ?

Click on the « printer » icon at the bottom of the pages. All pages don’t have this possibility. A piece of advise : look at the overview before printing, because lists can be long. Think of limiting the paper consumption by using the site.

Who created the basic tool of Community Forge?

Matthew Slater, a computer scientist and Tim Anderson, a member of SEL. (System Local Exchange)

Their first installation was the SELduLac in Geneva.

With the help of a team of volunteers, they put their expertise at the disposal of other SELs or projects like ours, to promote exchanges.
